ROMining

In ROMining, players take on different roles and respond to situations to maintain a balance between productivity and responsibility, the factors that determine whether or not a mine is successful in today’s world. Do you want to expand the mine? Will the local community stop it from being built? Do you really need that new cell phone? A storm hits! The government lowers the mine’s taxes! The workers strike! What happens next is up to you. The ROMining app complements an 8-foot-long, in-gallery, multi-touch game table, allowing up to 12 players at a time. Affect the table and play with others from your device when you’re in the gallery, or play in your own mining world at home. “By allowing the visitor to explore challenges from the mining industry, we show that we all need to work together to extract ores safely and sustainably.” (Kim Tait, ROM Curator of Mineralogy)
